ACL Program
ACL, anterior cruciate ligament, injuries affect approximately 250,000 Americans annually, with girls experiencing a significantly higher risk than boys. ACL injury programs have been proven to reduce the number of non-contact ACL injuries in sports when performed properly three times per week. Here at Physical Therapy North, we have developed a program in conjunction with Bojan B. Zoric, M.D., a team physician for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team and an active member of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association Physician Pool. Studies have proven that an effective program incorporates strengthening activities for the hip and knee, coupled with strict attention to form and teaching the athlete the proper warm-up, strengthening, plyometrics, and agility drills. At Physical Therapy North, our therapists can customize a program to each individual athlete, giving them a better chance to avoid being sidelined.
