Ashley E. Mitchell, MD, is a fellowship-trained physiatrist specializing in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine with expertise in the non-operative treatment of spine, sports, and musculoskeletal conditions. She focuses on helping patients reduce pain, restore function, and return to the activities that are important to them through individualized, evidence-based care.

Her expertise includes treating a wide range of musculoskeletal and spine-related conditions, including neck and back pain, sports injuries, nerve-related pain, tendon injuries, and joint conditions affecting the shoulders, hips, and knees. Her clinical interests include interventional pain procedures, musculoskeletal ultrasound, regenerative medicine, and rehabilitation-based approaches to pain management.

Committed to a patient-centered approach, Dr. Mitchell emphasizes education, communication, and shared decision-making throughout the treatment process. She works closely with each patient to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to their goals, lifestyle, and functional needs, with a strong focus on maximizing non-surgical treatment options whenever appropriate.

Her medical training includes a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident, followed by fellowship training in Pain Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Mitchell earned her medical degree from Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology.
