"In the past year I have been at Sports Medicine North several times and have found that each and every time everyone has been so nice, from the front desk on to the P.A.s seems like I see a different one every time I go , all have been attentive and compassionate." – Nannette L.
"I have had a positive experience at Sports Medicine North. Though it is a large and busy office (Peabody), the office staff are very proficient at checking people in and out. I've had to wait very little for this process. They are also very courteous and helpful. Dr. O'Holleran is very professional and takes the time to listen to his patients. He is very knowledgeable and will lay out all of the options for a particular problem. He is conservative in his approach and I am very comfortable with his advice. I will need surgery in the future and will not hesitate to have Dr. O'Holleran care for me." – Deborah A.
"Dr. O'Holleran and his staff were fantastic right down to the registration staff. I was in for a broken clavicle and was given the proper direction through the healing process. Dr. O'Holleran and his staff provided me the needed information to make my own educated decisions for my particular circumstances. I am happy to say that I am 100% healed." – David B.
"He listens." – Warren G.
"I saw Dr. O'Holleran for a knee problem in January 2012 that was related to hip issues (I was diagnosed with AVN in 1999). He told me upfront what my options were but that he wouldn't do anything surgically until we explored all those options. I started physical therapy and eventually I ended up needing a hip replacement which Dr. Wood performed in November 2013 (he was great!) and when the knee problem persisted I went back to Dr. O'Holleran who wanted to wait at least a year from the hip replacement to make sure it wouldn't resolve itself. I ended up having a Tibial Tubercle Transfer in February 2014 to fix the knee. He did such a great job and really tried to prepare me for the surgery and recovery. It was a grueling process and a decision I repeatedly questioned...Dr. O'Holleran was quick to assure me that my knee was in bad shape and choosing this surgery was the best decision I could have made. I broke my fibula in March 2015 and Dr. O'Holleran fit me in and checked my hip and knee to make sure I hadn't done any damage to either. About a week after I was released from my broken fibula, I returned to Dr. O'Holleran with a torn biceps tendon, impingement and several other shoulder issues directly related to my time on crutches and using my arms to help when my leg was healing. He did an amazing job fixing my shoulder in June 2015. Today I am fully able to do all the things I had done before the hip, knee and shoulder repairs. At 45 years old, my quality of life has dramatically improved based on the repairs both doctors have done. Without Dr. O'Holleran's support, skill and advice, I would have not made it through all the orthopedic issues I've gone through! He was funny, sweet, understanding and truthful when speaking to me and he always had the time to answer any and all questions I had, as was Dr. Wood. The surgeons and staff at SMN have been a pleasure to work with and true partners in my orthopedic journey. I highly recommend both doctors to anyone I meet." – Beth C.
"Everyone was great in keeping me in the loop. I was pleased in Dr. O'Holleran trying to get me back to work as soon as I am able to and to try to avoid surgery and sticking with physical therapy." – Erin C.
"I had an AC joint, right shoulder reconstruction. I am very happy with Dr. O'Holleran and his staff. I have recovered very well since the surgery, and am almost back at full range of motion. I was treated very well, and extremely happy with the outcome. Thank you!" -- Ryan F.
"My experience couldn't have been better from start to finish. Every appointment - no wait. The surgery was perfectly done with little pain and quick recovery as a result. Can't say enough good things about the doctors, nurses, facilities, and systems. Thank you all." -- Pat T.
"After a year too long, living with left knee pain caused by what I assumed to be torn cartilage, I had suffered enough. Anyone suffering any type of chronic injury can relate with my story. I feared the process of surgery, recovery, and rehab, but I had had enough. I didn't want to miss out on a ski season. I was lucky enough to be seen the day I called for a consultation with Dr. O'Holleran. An MRI days later with a second follow up, Dr. O'Holleran assured me that surgery to remove my torn medial meniscus was the best way to have my knee feel good again and return to my active lifestyle. He was right. Three weeks after surgery I was back at the gym. Six weeks later I was skiing all day with my kids." -- David S.
"This is my second time being treated for an issue at Sports Medicine North. The first was for back issues and this time was for a work injury to my knee. From beginning to end whether I was being treated for my back or my knee I have felt that I have received not only the best care, but I was also treated with respect and dignity as well as I was spoken to like a human being which is rare these days. I continuously recommend Sports Medicine North to people I know and meet that express unhappiness with the treatment they are receiving for a back injury or an elbow. I will continue to return when services are needed if needed." -- Elysa C.
"My PCP suggested I see Dr. O'Holleran for my left shoulder pain. I had a torn rotator cuff that needed surgical repair. I opted to have my surgery in the surgical suite at the Sports Medicine North in the Peabody building. I'm a nurse in a hospital and I couldn't have asked for a better surgical experience. I would have surgery there again in a heartbeat. I ended up also having a torn biceps tendon, bone spurs, and chips. The procedure went better than expected but I did well and went home the same day as scheduled. I chose a physical therapist near me and he said I'd picked the best shoulder man around. After a long, slow recovery (6 months) my shoulder is great and I would personally never consider any other doctor for shoulder surgery. I had a laproscopic procedure and have very small, nearly undetectable scars, which I consider to be a bonus. Dr. O'Holleran is personable, friendly, and highly skilled. I've recommended him to many people and patients. He's amazing! :)" -- Pamela W.
"I am 8 weeks post op from a total hip replacement on my right hip at the age of 42. My surgery was performed by Dr. Wood in November. I previously had Avascular Necrosis of my hip at 28 and underwent a Vascularized Fibular Graft at 29 to correct the condition. Last year, I began seeing Dr. O'Holleran for severe knee pain with exercise. During physical therapy, it was determined that my hip was the cause of my knee pain so I was sent to have an MRI of my hip to see what the current state was. It was discovered that I had bone spurs, a torn labrum, and arthritis in my right hip, which required the total hip replacement. I was very nervous about the surgery and didn't really want to go through with it, but the pain in my hip and knee were so severe that I was unable to do much physical activity. Eight weeks post op I can say that it was the best decision that I have made as I am pain free in my hip and able to do things that I haven't been able to do since I was 28 or younger! Four weeks post op I was back at the gym doing cardio and my yoga classes. Dr. Wood has been great and really listened to me and answered all my questions so that I felt more comfortable with my surgery. He is very patient and understood how hard this decision was for me to make at my age. I appreciate all the help/advice that I have received from so many of the doctors at Sports Medicine North (Dr. Matteos, Dr. Zoric) who helped me make the best-informed decision I could about my hip." -- Beth C.
